Some of My Creations

Hello wonderful followers, talented stampers, and random lurkers,

Christmas is such a busy time. It's easy get caught up in the hustle and bustle and find yourself completely stressed. Stamping is so relaxing. I make sure to take at least a few minutes each day to create. It seriously helps me maintain my sanity and I highly recommend it.

To provide some inspiration, here are some of my original designs from this past year.

My first card warrants two photos (inside and out.) I created it for Canada's 150th and simply love how the Adirondack chair holds it shut. I used the Colorful Seasons bundle, the Labeler Alphabet letters and the Seaside Textured Impressions embossing folder.

My second card was the first one I created with the This Little Piggy set. When I saw these delightfully happy pigs I squealed and knew I simply had to make a wedding card.

My 3rd card was the first card I created from the amazing Merry Patterns hostess set. Using the "eclipse" technique, I also incorporated my newly acquired Large Letters Framelits, which I got for half price! Ask me how.

It was love at first sight for the Coffee Break Suite. Coffee is a huge part of our culture here on the island. While we can't grow our own beans we have a bunch of shops who do their own roasting. I had seen 3D paper mugs before but they always had edges. And since I love a challenge, I decided to create one that was round. Perfect to hold some chocolate covered coffee beans or a gift card.

This second project was a challenge to use up some of my scraps. I added a tea light, and voila! More Christmas happiness. The tree is Whisper White cardstock, stamped with the pine branch from the Merry Patterns set. The Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions embossing folder was used on Crumb Cake to form the base. The white embossed vellum snowflakes are punched out. The Gold Glimmer paper star came from the Night in Bethlehem bundle. Everything but the Gold Metallic thread and tealight were leftovers.

And last, but certainly not least, here is a scrapbooking page I created to remember my recent Stampin' Up On Stage experience in Salt Lake City.  I used the Large Letters Framelits, the Color Theory Suite, the In Color DSP and the Labeler Alphabet. This was my first time at one of the big events and I had the time of my life! Join my team and pack your bags for Stampin' Up's 30th Birthday in Orlando, FL.

While these are all my own designs, you are welcome to copy them. As your Stampin Up Demonstrator, I'm here to help. If you want detailed instructions or have any questions, please contact me.

Seashore Stampers November Blog Hop

Hello Fabulous Followers, Fellow Stampers and Random Lurkers,

Welcome to the Seashore Stampers November Blog. This month, we are celebrating Christmas Cards and packages. There are so many fabulous ways to express ourselves - it's sometimes hard to decide what to do. Meet my card, "Xmas, Oh Deer."

This is the first card I created with the delightful Merry Patterns Hostess Set. Since I had also just bought the incredible Large Letter Framelits, I simply had to make an eclipse card. Now I know some folks have an aversion to the word Xmas. Recently I found out the history of the word and hope to change your mind. Contrary to popular belief, Xmas is not a secular word. Going way back in history, Christ was often written as "Xρ" or "Xt." In Greek, X is "chi," the first letter in Χριστος (Kreetos) which translates to Christ. X has in fact been an acceptable representation of Christ for hundreds of years. So, Merry Xmas!

My first Christmas Craft Fair was at Goward House last weekend. I was told by my friends to make "lots of crackers." Until just over a week ago, I had never even made a cracker. There I was, 2 days before the fair, figuring this out. (Holy Procraftination, Batman!) Well, now that I know how, I don't think I'll ever stop. They are so easy and so much fun. You can put what ever you want in them. I used the coveted Hershey Candycane kisses.

For the complete recipe and supply list, just drop me a line and I'll provide them.

Be sure to come visit me at Cook Street Village today, November 25th.

Seashore Stampers October Blog - Packaging

Hello beautiful people!

With the holidays just around the corner...okay, maybe not, but they are slowly creeping up on us. If we do some preparation now, we will be SO grateful later. (I know, this is rich coming from me, the Queen of Procrastination.)

This month, the Seashore Stampers have turned our focus to packaging. There are so many fabulous ways to change a piece of paper into a beautiful package, it's astounding. You could make a gift card holder, a cracker, a gift bag, a gift box, an explosion box, and so much more.

Since the Gift Bag Punch Board is one of the EASIEST and FASTEST ways to make gift packaging, I went that route. Also, it uses our amazing Designer Series Paper, much of which is still on special (buy 3 get 1 free) until Oct 31st. And, it also uses the Fast Fuse, which was on a crazy buy 1 get 2 (refills) free special at the beginning of this month. (If you missed that special, watch this space. The fabulous team at Stampin' Up has said they will do it again.)

Here are the 3 gift bags I made. My supply list is at the end of this blog. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Happy Halloween! Happy Early Christmas Preparations ! And Happy Stampin!

Cheers,
Adrienne

The Latest Scoop!

Hello all,

Before I give you all the latest scoop, if your order is under 200, please remember to use the October host code of 2SCKX7ME to be entered into my monthly draw.

Stampin' Up has some alcohol markers in the works. They will be called Stampin' Blends and come in a delicious variety of colours, including bronze and ivory. (Enough to make even the most seasoned stamper swoon.) As a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, I am able to get these over the next two weeks. We don't yet have a launch date for customers, but if you can't wait, contact me! I'll let you know how you can get them, and everything else, at a wicked discount!

As many of you know, World Card Making Day is Oct 7, 2017. This is a day we can celebrate by creating a card, remembering some of the best gifts are made by hand and come from the heart. To help celebrate, Stampin' Up has rolled out an amazing sale, running from Oct 1-10th.

I'm so excited about the Stampin' Up specials, I in turn, I am offering a FREE CLASS this Saturday, Oct 7th to commemorate World Card Making Day. Just come by my place anytime between 1:00pm and 3:00pm. No creative talent is required. Even if you've never held a Snail before, you can do this. (If you don't know what a Snail is, I'm talking about you.) When you bring a friend, who hasn't come to any of my classes before, you will both receive a gift from me. When you place an order over 40, on World Card Making Day, you will also receive a gift from me. Place an order over 200 and receive Hostess Benefits.

From today until October 10th, our Very Vanilla and Whisper White Note Card & Envelope sets, along with a bunch of Stamp Sets are on special for 15% off. All the Stamp Sets on sale coordinate with the Designer Series Paper on special. In addition, there is also a crazy Fast Fuse frenzy. Buy a Fast Fuse and get TWO REFILLS FOR FREE! (There is no limit.) Oct 5th update: apparently we love Fast Fuse more than Stampin' Up anticipated. They are sold out. Rather than go on back order, they will offer this promotion again, hopefully in the not too distant future. They are really sorry for any inconvenience.)

A ton of the Designer Series Papers are on sale too! Buy any 3 of the sale DSPs and get one sale DSP pack for FREE. In addition to a couple from the Holiday Catalogue, it includes all the DSP Paper Stacks and all the regular 12 sheet packs of DSP from the Annual Catalogue. (You can buy 3 at 12.50 and get the selected 17.00 one for free.) I have samples of many of the DSPs at my place, so come have a look. But be warned, they are even more tempting in person. (Again, there is no limit. This sale runs until Oct 31.)

If that's not enough, the incredible FREE Merry Patterns Stamp Set opportunity continues until October 31st as well. The ONLY way to score the ridiculously cute Stamp Set is to either host a party with 375 in sales or spend it yourself. Either way, you get the FREE stamp set in addition to all your other hostess benefits!

Thank you so much for reading. Happy shopping.

Seashore Stampers September Blog - Thanksgiving/Halloween

Hello to my wonderful followers, incredible stampers, and random lurkers,

Thank you so much for coming to visit our monthly Blog Hop. This month, we prepare for Thanksgiving and Halloween. Since mine is grown and gone, Halloween isn't a really big deal to me anymore. However, I will never ever outgrow Thanksgiving. The name says it all. It's a day dedicated to giving thanks... to showing our gratitude for all we have.

Personally, I like to express my thanks frequently. Life is precious and there may not be a tomorrow or next time. I believe in living a life of gratitude and being grateful for all the blessings I have in my life. Even if it's not perfect, I need to appreciate what I have now.

I am grateful for my family and friends and their unconditional love and support. I am grateful for being born in Canada - living in a country where we have healthcare, diversity and democracy.  People can rant about politics in the graffiti strewn alleyways of Toronto, and do it on public TV. I am grateful for my health albeit a work in progress. And I am very grateful to Stampin' Up for giving me the opportunity to meet so many incredible people by sharing what I love to do, with you.

I feel the "Painted Harvest" bundle is an amazing set to use for Thanksgiving and gratitude, year round. This was the very first card I made with this set. I stepped way out of my comfort zone with these colours. Since I feel full of thanks, I have called this card, "Thankful."(It's a bit lame. I think my imagination might be tired.)

My supplies, other than tools and adhesives, are listed below. Besides fussy cutting the sunflower, my card is quite easy. If you want the recipe, drop me a line.

Make sure to check back early next week for some CRAZY, EXCITING NEWS and October's Host Code. Congratulations to Cathy for being the lucky winner in September's Host code draw!

Check out Bruni's, Mi Ran's, and Erica's blogs as well.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Until next time,
Adrienne

Supply list for "Thank full": Painted Harvest Photopolymer #146021; Classic Stampin' Pads - Cajun Craze #126965, Crushed Curry #131173, Pear Pizzaz #131180, and Wild Wasabi #126959; Cardstock - Cajun Craze #119684, Crushed Curry #131199, and Whisper White White #100730; and Crushed Curry Mini Chevron 3/8" Ribbon #144197.

Seashore Stampers August "Something Other Than a Card" Blog

Hello my wonderful fellow stampers, followers and lurkers,

This month, the Seashore Stampers Blog Hops are featuring "something other than a card." I had a month to think about what I was going to make... a gift bag, a box, a business card holder, etc. Decisions. Decisions.

Well, as things would have it, the "Coffee Break Suite" (p.31 of the annual catalogue) was my inspiration. I must confess, I am slightly addicted to over-priced, over-sugared princess coffees. The coffee toned neutrals together with Soft Sky, Garden Green and Pear Pizazz are a match made in heaven. Although I have tried to cut back the amount of sugar I take in, it's a daily struggle. A Latte simply can't compare to a Caramel Macchiato or an Almond Milk Mocha Frappuccino.

While playing with this incredible suite, over a cup of coffee, in addition to creating a couple cards and gift card holders, I made a coffee mug. I've seen mugs and cups before, but they had distinct sides. I wanted to make a cylindrical one. This was the first time I've done such a thing without any instructions or even a prototype...I just winged it. While it's not perfect, it's mine and I'm pretty excited about it.

It's called, "One more cup of coffee 'fore I go."

My supplies, other than tools and adhesives, are listed below. If you want to know how I did this, drop me a line.

BREAKING NEWS:

This Sunday, August 27th, I'm super excited to say I was accepted to be a vendor at the amazing Saanich Sunday Farmers' Market at Braefoot Park, 1359 McKenzie Ave, from 10am-2pm. It's the last market of the season and it's going to be an incredible day! I'll have cards, gift card holders, boxes and much more, for sale. There will also be sign up sheets for upcoming classes and the new Holiday Catalogue Open House. Come visit me and enter your name into my draw to win a stamp set. See you there!

August Host Code is KD47KEHK. Please use it on orders under 200 to be entered into my monthly draw.

Thanks so much for reading. I hope to see you on Sunday.

Seashore Stampers July BIRTHDAY Blog

Hello lovely card making people and random followers,

Welcome to the monthly Seashore Stampers Blog Hop! This month we are focusing on birthdays.

I have good news and bad news. First, the bad news. I got home late and won't have my actual blog done up until some time Saturday. My bad. The good news, I spent the evening at Butchart Gardens listening to our fabulous Victoria Symphony. It was an awesome evening with family and friends. And of course, we had to go for hot chocolate and dessert afterwards. Thanks, to my incredible sister-in-law, Laura, for the tickets and the yummy treats. Sometimes, last minute plans are the best.

Cheers,
Adrienne

I'm ba-aaaccckkk! Better than never. What is better than making a card? Making it with a bunch of fabulous friends. I had such a fun day, creating my blog birthday card, while hanging out and playing with 3 1/2 girlfriends (all Stampin' Up demonstrators and one retired demonstrator.)

Sharing ideas and creating.

Face Timing with Erica, who couldn't make it because of a back injury.

The ladies making lunch, under the close supervision of the fur babies.

 Maksim, always in charge.

My card, which is fairly straight forward, was created using the lovely Fabulous Flamingo set. I've had great fun with this set, creating my own silly greetings and printing them on the computer. The flamingo is usually done with 3 step stamping. To create my flamingo, I only used 2 of the 3 stamps, making it more abstract. And I am sorry to say, there is not a die for the flamingo. Have I mentioned lately how much I love my Stampin' Up Paper Snips (#103579)? The supply list excluding tools and adhesives is listed below.

Feel free to contact me with any questions. Until next time.

Cheers and Keep on Stampin',
Adrienne

Seashore Stampers Blog Hop

Guess who just discovered she didn't have a "FOLLOW" button on her blog. Doh! I now have one and it is now near the top right. Follow me wherever I go by the simple click of a button.

Welcome to our monthly blog hop, wonderful followers and random lurkers,

Summer is a beautiful season. Along with blue skies, sunshine, and flowers, come the weddings. It is the season of love! In another life, I may have been a wedding planner. I love everything about weddings! I'm excited to say, this blog is dedicated to the wedding card.

Let's get into the mood with some music!

The first card I created is a sweet and traditional one, Of Love. (Yes, I have decided to give my cards names. Why? Because it's fun.) I used the ridiculously delightful Hostess Set, In the City. (I must confess, with 60 stamps in this set, it is one of my all time favourites.) I was inspired by the "going to the chapel" stamp. The amazing heart in the background is one of the Bloomin' Hearts thinlits. The background colour can be changed to suit your needs. I often like to incorporate a wedding's colours into their card.

The second card was created when I was giving a watercolour tutorial to a friend. I hadn't used This Little Piggy yet and was dying to give it a try. When I remembered our theme for the blog hop, I thought, "Why not pigs?" Before I knew it, Pig's Special Day was born.

As always, with my blog hop entries, card recipes are available on request and the supplies I used are listed at the end of the blog.

Canada Day 150 Bonne Fête du Canada

Hello my fellow Canadians and visitors from all over the world,

My friend, Brenda, asked if I could have a Canada Day card class. She needed four cards for the big day, July 1st. Was I up for the challenge? Heck yes, I was. This year we celebrate Canada's 150th birthday. I am incredibly proud, grateful and honoured to be a Canadian. What better way to celebrate than a card class?

In order to come up with some card ideas, I reflected on some of things that make Canada, Canadian. In addition, I wanted these cards work together and coordinate, as a set. Each of the following cards are my own design.

The first card came easily...I live on Vancouver Island so I wanted something beachy, plus a nod to Canada's many lakes and our motto, "A Mari Usque Ad Mare..." From Sea to Sea. And I simply LOVE the new Muskoka (Adirondack) chair die. I was thinking of the Canadian flag for the second card. However, I wanted something a little different rather than "just a flag" and I wanted to emphasize the 150 years. By the time I reached the third card, I was a little punchy and my silly side started to leak out. I simply had to include the proud and noble beaver on a card, eh? And then I ran out of gas. I came up with a few ideas for the fourth card but none of them felt right. Eventually I gave up and went to bed. (Those of you who follow me know my history of procrastination. Yes, the first three cards were created the day/night before the class) On the afternoon of the class, thankfully an evening class, I finally decided on the fourth. I wanted something to reflect Canada's welcoming attitude (the doors) and our kindness. Done!

I decorated for the occasion and we had way too much fun. Even the dog and one of the cats got in on the action.

Card 1 - From Sea to Sea

 Card 2 - The Big 150

Card 3 - Eh?

Card 4 - Open Door Kindness

The Canada Card Class gang. (L to R: Laura, Erica; Brenda. I'm on the floor with Penny puppy. Meshka, pictured separately is looking none to pleased about her party hat. She is probably the most tolerant kitty I've ever know.)

I will post more details on how the cards were create by the end of the week. In the meantime, if you want the recipes for any of these cards, let me know. Happy early Canada Day!!!

Until next time,
Adrienne
